Agree the new address before filing
Confirm that the new provider has approved the intended use, the address is correct and the service is active for the intended start date. Payment alone should not be treated as permission to use an address.
Keep the confirmation and service terms with your company’s records. Check who is responsible for official notices, any relevant opening arrangements and the end date of the service.
Check the filing deadline
ACRA’s guidance for local companies says changes to company information, including a registered office address, must be reported within 14 days. Foreign-company filing timeframes differ, so check the guidance for your entity type.
Plan the effective date and filing together. Avoid a gap between ending the old arrangement and starting the new one.
Update the address through Bizfile
- Use an authorised account to access the entity’s information in Bizfile.
- Open the Office address section and choose to edit it.
- Retrieve the new address using its postal code and verify the complete address details.
- Enter the effective date, review the information and submit the required declaration.
- Retain the acknowledgement and check the confirmation in the Bizfile inbox.
Follow the live prompts and ACRA’s current guide if the interface changes. If an authorised filer is handling the update, agree who will check and retain the completed filing.
Update the places that use the address
Your own records may also need updating: invoices, proposals, website contact details, letterheads, supplier records and relevant account profiles. Make a list before the change so that the same address is used consistently afterwards.
Some organisations will require evidence or their own review. Do not assume changing the ACRA record automatically changes every bank, payment-provider, licensing or customer record.
Close the old arrangement carefully
Ask the old provider how outstanding correspondence and any final charges will be handled. Confirm when use of its address must stop, and retain the termination confirmation.
If YavaOffice is your proposed new provider, review the subscription plan online. The exact address, eligibility and activation arrangements must be confirmed before address use. The current registered-address plan does not include general mail collection, scanning or forwarding.
