The address on a register has a specific purpose
A registered office is the official address a Singapore company supplies for communications and notices. ACRA explains that it does not have to be the same place where the company carries out its business activities. An administrative address and a working office can therefore serve different purposes.
“Business address” is a broader expression. A supplier might use it to mean a correspondence address, an operating location or an address used on a website. Ask what the phrase means in that particular service agreement.
Three questions to separate the uses
- Registration: is the address permitted for your entity’s registered office?
- Operations: where will the business actually work, meet clients or carry out regulated activities?
- Correspondence: which letters and deliveries will the provider accept, notify, store or forward?
Write the answers down before paying. A usable registered address does not automatically include a desk, reception team, business-mail plan or permission for every business activity.
What a virtual office subscription actually buys
“Virtual office” describes a service package, rather than one universal set of inclusions. An entry plan might cover address use. Another could add mail scans, a phone number or meeting-room credits. A price comparison is useful only after you compare those inclusions.
For example, a founder who works from a separate studio may want an administrative address without workspace. A team that receives customer returns needs a different arrangement. A parcel-heavy business should not assume an address-only service can receive its deliveries.
What YavaOffice currently offers
YavaOffice’s Singapore plan covers registered address use at S$125 per company per month, subject to eligibility and agreed terms. General mail collection, scanning, forwarding, phone answering, desk space and meeting rooms are excluded.
The exact address and permitted use are confirmed before activation. We notify your nominated contact of official notices by email. Those official-notice arrangements must be distinguished from optional general business-mail services.
Before choosing your address
Send the provider your entity type, intended use and expected correspondence needs. Request the actual address, the contracting operator, its relevant credentials, a list of inclusions and exclusions, and the renewal and exit terms.
If you also need an operational address for a licence, banking application or another authority, confirm that requirement separately. Acceptance for one purpose is not a promise of acceptance for every other purpose.
