Address use and mail services

Do not assume every address plan is a mail plan

Address use, collection, scanning and forwarding are separate service activities. Providers often bundle them, but the package name alone does not tell you which activities are included.

Before directing correspondence to an address, ask which categories the operator accepts and how the responsible person will be contacted. This is particularly important if your business receives deliveries or customer returns.

Official communications need their own process

ACRA’s registered-office requirements include the ability to receive communications and notices. A service described as address-only still needs an appropriate process for those responsibilities.

That does not mean every optional general-mail service is included. Agree the official-notice arrangements explicitly before activation, including how the company will become aware of important correspondence.

What the optional services mean

Collection

Receiving and holding items for someone to pick up.

Scanning

Digitising an envelope or its contents, subject to the agreed permission and limits.

Forwarding

Sending physical correspondence to another address, with handling and postage terms.

Parcel handling

Accepting deliveries with specific size, quantity, storage and restricted-item rules.

A provider may offer any combination. Ask about charges, retention, authorisation and what happens to unsupported items.

What YavaOffice currently includes

The current Singapore Registered Address plan is S$125 per company per month and covers registered address use, subject to eligibility and terms. General mail collection, scanning and forwarding are not included.

Phone answering, meeting rooms and workspace are also excluded. We notify your nominated contact of official notices by email. Before paid activation, the actual address, intended use and selected billing period must be confirmed in the service agreement.

Match your correspondence to the service

If you need everyday mail or parcel services, say so when you enquire. Keep those requirements separate from the registered-address request so they can be assessed clearly.

Do not send items to an address until the operator has confirmed they are accepted under your agreement. A future mail plan should be chosen on its actual handling process and limits, rather than an assumption that every virtual office works the same way.
